Help him heal the children
We may have read about the earthquake devastation in Haiti in the newspapers, and watched the mayhem that ensued on the news, but there’s nothing quite like reading personal accounts of people who are there, working hard to help provide relief to the survivors.
I recently came across a very special blog, created by Craig Kielburger, Founder of Free the Children, who documented his assessment of the situation in Port-au-Prince and neighbouring communities. Travelling to the earthquake region with a convoy bringing food and emergency supplies, his team has been working hard to help coordinate response and aid.
With Partners in Health, Free the Children is also providing emergency relief and medical supplies to get immediate, effective, primary health care and support to the hardest-hit communities. The situation is grim, and sadly, according to Craig, “Children are the most vulnerable. Kids cannot push to the front of a food distribution line. Young girls are especially at risk.”
You can help Craig’s team in providing relief and long-term commitment to serving children in Haiti.
