Blog Shops: Where to start?

A Virgin Online Shoppers Guide to Finding Blog Shops

gg060210-I was at tea with the 3 BFF’s the other day, all of who are like-minded shopping junkies who Shoppers Anonymous would shun so as not to send all other recovering shopaholics into relapse. As usual, we were gushing about our most recent steals, most of which were online, and one of the girls shyly proclaimed, ‘I have never shopped online...’ We asked her why-the-hot-tub-not-it-can-be-gosh-darn-affordable-fun and she replied simply that she never knew where to start. So here is the how-to for her (and your) benefit!

1) Oogle Google
What can’t you find on Google nowadays? If you are looking for something specifically in your country, just: A lot of shopping options will pop up for your musings. And if you want to find independent sellers, write ‘Blog Shop’ in your search. Look at a few of the listings before deciding on anything.

2) Shop Hopping
Now here is where the fun starts, blog shop owners usually leave links on their pages to other blog shops as to help one another out with page views.

So feel free to check some of them out. Make sure to bookmark the ones you like before hopping to the next or you may find it hard to come by it again.

3) Mother ship of Shops
However, some do not (can’t blame em, competitiveness exists online too) but they have links to *sing hallelujah* Blog Shop Directories! This you must love as it is the Yellow Pages of the online shopping world. They usually update weekly/monthly wish a list of new shops or trend spotting. It is as if someone did all your shopping homework for you so if you feel lazy, skip step 1 and 2 and Google for a shopping directory.

4) Payment Method
A lot of ‘branded’ online shops do international shipping. However, most blog shops do not. Read through their Info and Contact, usually at the top of their page in headers, to find out how they go about their payment and shipping. It is generally the same. Another sure fire way to tell is by their currency stated.

Have fun popping your online shopping cherries!

And if you missed the previous fab-tastic article by yours truly, you must read it. Just type it Online Shopping Survival Kit in the search box.
